WHO WE ARE

ProCare Community Support Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Massachusetts, dedicated to promoting well‑being, integration, and human development within the Brazilian and immigrant communities in the United States. Our mission is to build bridges of support, knowledge, and care, strengthening individuals, families, and community networks.

We believe that every person deserves access to quality information, emotional support, learning opportunities, and a safe environment to grow. For this reason, we develop programs that integrate psychoeducation, family support, skills development, and community strengthening, guided by principles of ethics, social responsibility, and meaningful impact.

Our work is grounded in three core pillars:

  • Care — offering human, compassionate, evidence‑based support.

  • Education — providing accessible knowledge that transforms lives.

  • Community — creating networks of support that strengthen connections and expand opportunities.

ProCare was founded by professionals committed to mental health, education, and social development, united by the mission of contributing to a more informed, integrated, and resilient community. We work so that each person we serve can find pathways toward autonomy, belonging, and well‑being.

We are an institution built with responsibility, transparency, and deep respect for the diversity of stories that reach us. Our purpose is clear: to care for people, strengthen families, and transform communities.

Our History

ProCare Community Support Foundation, Inc. was born from a simple but powerful conviction: that every person deserves access to support, knowledge, and community, especially during moments of transition, vulnerability, or cultural adaptation.

What began as a series of informal conversations among professionals dedicated to mental health, education, and community development soon evolved into a shared mission to create a structured, accessible, and culturally informed support network for the Brazilian and immigrant population in Massachusetts.

The idea for ProCare emerged from years of direct clinical and community experience, witnessing the challenges faced by immigrant families—language barriers, emotional stress, limited access to resources, and the absence of culturally sensitive support systems. These realities revealed a clear need: an organization capable of offering guidance, education, and connection in a way that honors the unique experiences of the immigrant journey.

In response to this need, ProCare Community Support Foundation, Inc. was formally established as a nonprofit organization committed to promoting well‑being, strengthening families, and building resilient communities. From its inception, ProCare has been guided by principles of compassion, integrity, and social responsibility, working to bridge gaps in access to information, emotional support, and community resources.

Our early initiatives focused on psychoeducation, family support, and community engagement—programs designed to empower individuals with knowledge, reduce isolation, and create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported. As the organization grew, so did its vision: to become a trusted hub for community wellness, education, and integration, offering programs that uplift individuals and strengthen the collective fabric of the community.

Today, ProCare stands as a testament to what can be built when purpose meets commitment. Our history is still being written, shaped by the people we serve, the partnerships we build, and the belief that caring for one another is the foundation of a stronger, healthier, and more connected community.
